13:40 -  McSweeney Brothers Maiden Hurdle (Div 1)

This appears the weaker of the two divisions and perhaps FAVORI DE CHAMPDOU can overcome a lengthy absence. The son of Saddler Maker was a useful sort in bumpers filling the runner-up spot behind Keskonrisk at Fairyhouse before getting off the mark when beating Run For Oscar at Thurles. Gordon Elliott's charge now reappears after a 19-month lay-off but on the plus side the yard is in good form and he has some jumping experience from point-to-points. Desert Friend stayed well on the Flat winning four times when trained by Mark Johnston and David Simcock and is an interesting recruit to hurdles, while the well-bred Choir Practice needs to step up on the form of her two maiden hurdle outings this summer.

14:10 -  McSweeney Brothers Maiden Hurdle (Div 2)

THE NAMES JOCK is a progressive sort on the Flat winning three times and, while failing to add to that tally this year, has run with plenty of credit notably when runner-up to Ever Present over 1m7f at Leopardstown. He looks a nice recruit to hurdling and is sure to be well schooled for the job. Glan showed useful form in bumpers winning twice and was third in a Grade 3 mares' event at the Punchestown Festival. She's bred for jumping as the dam is a half-sister to the smart Foreman. Dixie Flyer made all in a Down Royal bumper for Stuart Crawford before joining Henry de Bromhead and filling third spot in a maiden hurdle at Killarney in May. Galway bumper winner Gordon Dai Dai and two-time Flat winner Malbas are others to consider.

14:45 -  Seamus Mulvaney Bookmaker Novice Hurdle

FAROUT has to give weight to his elders but is on an upward curve and can complete the hat-trick. The French-bred son of Dark Angel followed up an easy maiden win at Cork by giving 7lb and a beating to useful stablemate Tax For Max at Galway. Bumper and maiden hurdle winner Off Your Rocco didn't give his running last time and a better performance will surely be forthcoming in first-time cheekpieces. Raven Rule would likely have won a Cork handicap but for falling at the last and has a chance if returning to that sort of form, but maiden winners Hammersmith, Kendancer and Wojood will have to up their game in this company.

15:20 -  Devon Inn Hotel Handicap Hurdle

MINDSMADEUP won over this trip at the Harvest Festival two years ago and was right back on song when a close third at Galway in July. He was only beaten fractions behind Macgiloney and can reverse that form even though the winner has since gone in again over a shorter trip back at Ballybrit. Hewick was just behind the selection at Galway and ran well over fences at Perth earlier this month. Oscar Romero has risen sharply in the ratings having won three times at Ballinrobe this summer. He's obviously thriving at the moment and has Paul Townend's assistance from the saddle for good measure. My Immortal won on hurdling debut at Kilbeggan and looks interesting off a light weight. His trainer went close with a similarly lightly-raced type in a handicap hurdle here on Monday.

15:55 -  Ballygarry House Hotel Mares Novice Chase

ROBBINIA was good on her chasing debut at Tramore and was still in with every chance when coming down at the final fence in a Grade 3 novice event at Galway. The daughter of Robin Des Champs wouldn't have been far away had she stood up and can gain recompense here. Magic Daze was a much higher-rated hurdler than the selection and looks a big danger. She was an excellent second to her stable companion Telmesomethinggirl in the mares' novice hurdle at Cheltenham in March. The fact that she jumped well when winning her only point-to-point is reassuring as she tackles racecourse fences for the first time. Kitty Galore won well at Sligo last week on her first run over the larger obstacles but dropped out tamely over hurdles at this venue on Monday.

16:25 -  Guinness Kerry National Handicap Chase (Grade A)

FARCLAS ran some superb races in top handicaps last season and there is a big pot in him if he gets the breaks. His second to The Shunter at Cheltenham was a particularly good effort and there was little wrong with his fifth behind impressive winner Minella Times in the Grand National. He's been off since, but a chance is taken that he'll be primed for a big run and Jordan Gainford's 5lb claim will help. Gordon Elliott also runs the less exposed Conflated who had some strong novice form last term and has had the benefit of a pipe-opener on the Flat. No fewer than ten of these ran in the Galway Plate with Modus faring best in third. He should go well, while Plate fifth Darasso showed his liking for this course when beating former Kerry National hero Snow Falcon in June but is a doubtful stayer over three miles. John Ryan will have been gutted that the rapidly improving mare Fairyhill Run missed the cut, but if she does get into the race as first reserve her claims are obvious after two really impressive wins in handicap chases this summer.

17:00 -  Brandon Hotel Beginners Chase

BUSSELTON showed plenty of ability over hurdles and ought to have a decent career in this sphere. He was a Grade 2 runner-up and was third in a Grade One over the smaller obstacles before finishing a clear second in both of his beginners' chases. When he was last seen in Killarney, he was beaten two and a half lengths into second by Karl Der Grosse who, at the time of writing, is one of the leading fancies (as a reserve) for the Grade A Kerry National which is the preceding race on this card. The Bosses Oscar has some very smart hurdling form particularly when runner-up to Flooring Porter in a Grade B handicap hurdle at Navan in December and when occupying the same position in the Grade 3 Pertemps at the Cheltenham Festival. He is sure to be well schooled for his first crack at fences. Port Stanley has been placed in six of his seven chases including when third in a Grade A novice handicap chase at Punchestown in April. He is a contender for a very in-form Jessica Harrington. Alfa Mix and Heroes Of Renown are others that can show up well.

17:35 -  Listowel Vintners Association Flat Race

GLENGLASS is of obvious interest on racecourse debut for Gordon Elliott. He won his point-to-point at Tallow in February last year for Colin Bowe and that race has thrown up a couple of multiple winners. He switched to Elliott after making 155,000 guineas at the Sales. There was a lot to like about Learning Every Day's debut second at Wexford in March. The horse that beat him has since landed another couple of bumpers to boost the form. Patrick Mullins comes in for the ride on Learning Every Day who is given plenty of respect. Rockon Henry left previous efforts behind when pipped by a head in Tipperary. That entitles him to be in the mix for a cheque. John Ryan is having some season, so his newcomer Highland Sting is worth a market check.

13:40 -  McSweeney Brothers Maiden Hurdle (Div 1)

FAVORI DE CHAMPDOU has a 19-month absence to overcome but he showed form verging on useful in bumpers and should be well up to winning a race of this nature over hurdles. Choir Practice and Desert Friend make most appeal of the opposition.

Timeform 1-2-3
14:10 -  McSweeney Brothers Maiden Hurdle (Div 2)

GORDON DAI DAI showed plenty in bumpers and appeals as the type to do well over hurdles, so he's taken to make a winning start. Dixie Flyer seems sure to build on his debut effort in this sphere, while Glan and The Names Jock are other interesting recruits to hurdling.

Timeform 1-2-3
14:45 -  Seamus Mulvaney Bookmaker Novice Hurdle

FAROUT has looked a very useful prospect when landing both starts this season and is fancied to extend his winning sequence to 3 with further improvement very much on the cards. Off Your Rocco can't have been himself at Galway last time and can bounce straight back and provide the chief threat. Raven Rule is another who could play a part if shrugging off a lesser run last time.

Timeform 1-2-3
15:20 -  Devon Inn Hotel Handicap Hurdle

Several arrive with good claims, including OSCER ROMERO who impressed in making it 3 wins from his last 4 starts at Ballinrobe last month, defying another hike in the weights in the process. The assessor has applied further pressure but he looks sure to go well again in this groove and earns the vote. Hewick. returned to hurdles, Whatucallher and Mindsmadeup are others to consider.

Timeform 1-2-3
15:55 -  Ballygarry House Hotel Mares Novice Chase

This looks to revolve around ROBINNIA, who is already a much better chaser than hurdler and remains open to improvement having taken a late fall when alongside the eventual winner in a Grade 3 contest at Galway in July. She can get back to winning ways. Kitty Galore made a winning start in this sphere last week so gets the vote to chase the selection home, ahead of the returning Magic Daze.

Timeform 1-2-3
16:25 -  Guinness Kerry National Handicap Chase (Grade A)

Gordon Elliott holds a strong hand here and it may pay to side with one of his 4 representatives in the shape of FARCLAS. He acquitted himself with plenty of credit in top-end handicaps last term, finishing a creditable fifth in the Grand National when his stamina appeared to run dry late on. He's expected to go close, with Conflated, Aramax and Darasso others fancied to be in the mix.

Timeform 1-2-3
17:00 -  Brandon Hotel Beginners Chase

THE BOSSES OSCAR should prove hard to beat if transferring his smart hurdles form over to fences at the first attempt. Busselton has a made a decent start to his chasing career and remains open to improvement, with Port Stanley next best.

Timeform 1-2-3
17:35 -  Listowel Vintners Association Flat Race

Point winner GLENGLASS gets the nod to make a successful start under Rules for the Elliott team, with confidence increased should the market vibes be strong. Learning Every Day is the obvious danger after his debut second at Wexford back in March. Rockon Henry may prove best of the rest.
