MANDOCELLO got off the mark at the third attempt over hurdles at Southwell last month and the six-year-old is likely to be a cut above the opposition in a contest that lacks depth on paper. Bagheera Ginge finished third over C&D on his racecourse debut and he is entitled to improve on that display, while a tongue-tie might aid the cause of Largy Reach after a disappointing effort at Cartmel.

LA DOMANIALE has improved plenty for the switch to fences having won over C&D before finishing runner-up at Worcester. The mare doesn't appear to need to improve on what she has achieved so far to go one better today. Maskia, who stepped forward on his chasing debut when second here last month, is another to note, while Geromino is 1-1 at this track and cannot be overlooked.

LEOPOLDS ROCK reversed form with his Southwell conqueror over C&D last Sunday after travelling notably well throughout that contest. The gelding carries a 7lb penalty for that victory and a repeat performance is likely to see him follow up here. Mi Laddo commands respect as he returns from a break, while handicap debutant Culture and Balzac appeal most of the remainder.

This revolves around CAWTHORNE, who could hardly have won any easier at Worcester last time out and an 8lb rise for that success could prove lenient. Rock On Tommy did similar over hurdles at Uttoxeter and he must be of interest on his chase debut off what looks a workable mark. Another to note is Gosuatri, who had been in excellent form before a listless effort at Sedgefield last time out.

LATINO FLING may not be the most consistent of mares but she has won her last two over this distance and conditions look to be in her favour as she bids to make it four wins from her last seven. Handicap debutant Kalma makes plenty of appeal on her first start for new connections, while the admirable Mulberry Hill is also entitled to respect.

A disappointing turnout and it is hard to look past VIS A VIS, who bumped into a useful type when finishing second at Newton Abbot last month. Out of his two rivals, the Olly Murphy-trained Goleirihem can give him most to do in first-time cheekpieces, with point winner Son Of Aliciaslady probably best watched on his first run over hurdles.

LANDEN CALLING has improved after being fitted with blinkers over C&D on his last two starts, breaking his maiden in April before a close second the following month, when he pulled clear with the winner. The six-year-old gets the vote ahead of Via Dolorosa, who is an intriguing prospect back over hurdles, while the strong-travelling Sammylou, a stablemate of the selection, can also feature.
